Hello, I'm Phil Calhoun and my journey on earth.... begin August 4,1944, in Cherokee County, Georgia, being the second born of a set of twins to Morris and Dolly Calhoun. My father, Morris Calhoun, was one of twelve brothers, which all of whom played musical instruments and sang. At the lost of my parents two years apart, at the age of six, my twin sister, older brother and myself went to with my mother¹s sister, Ollie and her husband, Ben Pope. These two devout Christians continued my raising and the growing of my Christian life. My life was first dedicated to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at the age of seven and then I renewed my life and faith in Christ in 2001.

My musical aspirations began at an early age by singing in the children¹s choir and graduating to the adult choir in my church. I sang with the Glee Club and with the FFA Gospel Quartet through school and our quartet won regional championship in 1961 in Atlanta. I won second place on the ³Ted Mack Original Amateur Hour: Stars Of Tomorrow² contest held in Atlanta in 1955.

After graduation I enlisted in the United States Air Force and did my tour of duty in Viet Nam with God at my side.....I came home. Praise the Lord. Work brought me to the Panhandle of Florida where I pursued my career with music and continued for many years. During this time I remarried and Norma and I will celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary this year. Norma and I have three daughters and tragically lost one. Without Faith and God, we could not have survived this untimely death.

I am now employed as a Building Inspector with Okaloosa County Florida and an active member of Faith Assembly Christian Church. I am very active with the choir, worked with our junior pastor in doing a prison ministry and many other aspects of our church. I participated in coaching basketball for the area YMCA and help promote and play for many benefits for the needy and less fortunate.

I am at this time working to complete a twelve song gospel cd with ten of the songs being original works by fellow Christians and musicians Jabbo Stokes and Terry Lewis. My ability to sing and play the guitar is a God given talent and through God I will use my talent for praising, worshiping and spreading God¹s wondrous work.
